This brief intervention was designed as part of a large Australian randomised, controlled trial of brief CBT interventions for cannabis dependence among adults conducted by the researchers at the Centre. The project will reformulate the practitioner guidelines and patient booklet to a standard that is suitable for delivery by primary health care practitioners.

| Methodology |
The project will reformulate the practitioner guidelines and patient booklet to a standard that is suitable for delivery by primary health care practitioners by:
(a) forming a reference group of primary health care experts;
(b) pilot testing these practitioner guidelines and booklet with primary health care practitioners, using focus groups initially, followed by clinical training workshops in each State and Territory; and
(c) print and assist in the distribution of the guidelines and booklet, together with the clinical guidelines for primary health care practitioners to undertake such interventions

Output:
The client and clinician manuals have been produced and workshops held in all states and territories except Victoria. Pre-post and 4 month follow-up evaluation are currently being completed. NSW Health Department funded an additional 17 workshops in their state that have been completed.
